We are aware it is a difficult time at the moment for everyone due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We are immensely grateful to our fantastic community for being so supportive during this time and have had to change how we run the practice on an almost daily basis. Our goal is to make the practice a safe space, free of potential infection, for the most vulnerable people who need face to face care. With this in mind there are a number of changes this week, that are likely to evolve themselves over time. We will keep everyone up to date as quickly as we can.
Phone lines We do apologise for the telephone congestion at present, we are working very hard on a solution to this but as you can imagine there is a very high volume of calls during this period. Please bear with us as we are trying to get to everyone as quickly as possible.
Flu Vaccinations All of the team at The Russell Clinic worked very hard to devise the safest clinic we could for our patients. We have further availability in April for the flu vaccination clinics that can be booked by phone from Monday. We do apologise for the telephone congestion at present, we are working very hard on a solution to this but as you can imagine there is a very high volume of calls during this period. For those self isolating, there isn't as much pressure to have the vaccination done immediately and sometime in April will be fine. We are working very hard on getting everyone vaccinated as soon as possible.
Flu vaccination clinics will be run differently from any other year at the Russell Clinic. A few things to consider if you are booked for a flu vaccination clinic: - Please wear appropriate clothing that allows easy access to your preferred arm for vaccination. If you are wearing a jacket or jumper you will be required to remove it before entering the building. - If you have mobility issues, trouble standing for a period of time or feel you will struggle with the incredibly fast pace of the clinic, please advise our reception staff on the phone or at the door before entering the building. - You will be asked a series of questions on booking, the day before your appointment and at the door before entering the building. We understand it can be frustrating to have to answer these questions several times but it is necessary to ensure the safety of our staff and vulnerable patients. - Your temperature will be taken at the door before entering the building.
Consults Due to the escalating transmission risk of COVID-19 The Russell Clinic is reducing face to face contact as much as possible. Our Doctors will be consulting every patient via Telehealth (video or phone call) from Monday the 30th of March. Face to face consults may be offered after this at the discretion of the doctor.
Opening hours From Tuesday the 31st of March 2020 The Russell Clinics opening hours will be changing. Staffed hours and phone lines will open at 8.00am and will be closing at 6.00pm Monday - Friday.
Online bookings We have turned our online booking system back on for Telehealth consults. If your regular doctor is showing no availability online, please call the clinic on 8278 1111 as other times may be available.
Collection of prescriptions, pathology and radiology forms Prescriptions, pathology and radiology forms will still be available for collection from The Russell Clinic. For the safety of our staff and vulnerable patients, we have installed an Intercom at our front door to allow our staff to triage anyone entering the building. This can also be used to speak to the reception staff about collecting necessary forms.
Triage For the safety of our staff and vulnerable patients you will be asked a series of relevant triage questions when confirming your appointment and at the door before entering the building.
Repeat prescriptions We are offering telephone consults for prescriptions now.
Rude behaviour We will not tolerate any rude or aggressive behaviour towards our staff.
